Sepiso is a series of six works in predominantly white hues with a pop of colour, a Winnipeg winter on canvas. Sepiso means promise in Lozi, one of the languages of my birth country, Zambia. And a promise doesn’t wait for spring to be true, it holds in winter, finds beauty in the stillness, and turns our eyes toward what’s coming with a hopeful heart.

Any Day Now The quiet anticipation of a Manitoba spring. Muted and bright pops of colour pressing through the white, patient and certain.
To Know and Love Winnipeg A textile and fibre interpretation of the map of Winnipeg. The city rendered in ivory and colour. To know a place and find its beauty.
Rooted Deep navy, ivory and warm amber the colours of steady strength. Warm, bold, and completely sure of itself.
Daydream A promise can sometimes look like a daydream. Teal and brown drifting through ivory, soft, unhurried, a little hopeful because dreams can still come true.
