Kutwanana (which means togetherness or community in Shangaan )
This piece holds the belief that we are made whole through one another. In its intertwined, layered forms, each shape distinct yet inseparable from the next. It speaks to the love that binds community, the joy found in working together towards a common goal, and the quiet power of showing up for each other.
This abstract fibre art piece measure 30/40, it is made entirely by hand using natural fibres such as sheep wool year, roving and upcycled cotton. The canvas is pure linen. All my materials are from Canadian small businesses, most of the wool used is Canadian made. The techniques I uses to create this piece are punch needle needle felting.
What about cleaning dust from the piece? You can run a small hand held vacuum over the piece to clean it. Please message me for more details.
