Tulasizwe (Be Still)

Tulasizwe means Be Still in Zulu.

The colour palette I picked this time, is joyful. I say joyful not happy because I think happy relies heavily on the circumstance we are in. Whilst joyful, well from personal experience, I know it’s possible to be joyful even when life is so hard! Training our anxious hearts to be still in seasons of hardship, can cause us to see the quiet joyful moments given to us by God to help us find hope to carry on, even if it’s just for a little while longer.

This abstract fibre art piece measure 30/40, it is made entirely by hand using natural fibres such as sheep wool year, roving and upcycled cotton. The canvas is pure linen. All my materials are from Canadian small businesses, most of the wool used is Canadian made. The techniques I uses to create this piece are punch needle needle felting.
